Adelaide’s two-day festival of sound and taste, Harvest Rock, returns for a second year.
Taking over Rymill/Murlawirrapurka and King Rodney/Ityamai-Itpina Parks on Saturday October 28, and Sunday October 29, the festival brings a busy lineup of national and international artists, along with major food and drink offerings. It’s taking things to the next level this year too with an inaugural “The Grape Escape” wellness precinct for some relaxation between sets.
Here’s our breakdown of Harvest Rock II >>
Music
Over the weekend across two stages, Harvest and Vines, a lineup of Australian and international artists will hit the stage. The festival features two Australian exclusive shows from the headliners, Beck, who is bringing his full band, and Jamiroquai, who are back in Australia for the first time in 12 years!
On Saturday, disco icon Nile Rodgers & Chic will hit the stage, as well as Powderfinger frontman Bernard Fanning, singer-songwriter Thelma Plum, Flight Facilities with a decade DJ set, and many more.
Sunday will see Australian rock favourite Paul Kelly, smooth electronic pop artist Chet Faker, dreamy indie pop-rock queen Julia Jacklin, Byron Bay’s psych-pop band Babe Rainbow, and the dazzling Vera Blue, among others.
Enjoy heaps of exclusives and dancing all day and night.
Food
Just as much about the food as it is the music, Harvest Rock brings three food precincts with Wildwoods Village, Truck Town, and VIP Village.
Wildwood’s lineup of 14 pop-up restaurants has been curated in collaboration with Africola chef patron, Duncan Welgemoed. Attendees will taste their way through a selection of eateries, including Thirsty Tiger, Bottega Bandito, Thai BBQ House, Salopian Inn, The Filipino Project, and Shibui, among many other Adelaide favourites.
Truck Town brings festival classics with 18 food trucks dishing out dumplings, and burgers, to waffles and bubble tea, with Staazi & Co, Taco Cartel, Moorish Bites, Humpdy Dumplings, and more.
Those with VIP tickets will have even more to choose from with VIP Village, where Duncan’s Africola will offer its renowned South African food, along with Anchovy Bandit’s pizza and pasta, and Ông’s modern Vietnamese cuisine.
A new addition this year is the YES CHEF stage, where renowned chefs and drink experts will bring their culinary knowledge to the stage. Karena Armstrong from Salopian Inn, Deny Bradden from Dirty Doris Diner, Terry Nattawoot from Soi 38, and Shane Wilson from Anchovy Bandit are some of the chefs you’ll get to see. Wine connoisseurs such as Tom Shobbrook of Shobbrook Wines and James Erskine of Jauma, will also be taking the stage.
Drinks
The festival will host a Cellar Door pop-up where attendees will be able to taste their way around South Australia’s wine regions. Across the 24 Cellar Door vendors, choose from more than 100 wines from around the state, with SA’s top winemakers on hand to pour.
The Cellar Door lineup is curated by acclaimed Australian wine critic Nick Stock, with selections including Murdoch Hill, Basket Range, Delinquente, Moorak, and many more. For breaks between wine, enjoy Mate Maker’s kombucha, and Archie Rose and Jack Daniel’s for spirits.
The Grape Escape
Harvest Rock’s inaugural The Grape Escape is a “wellness centre” within the festival aimed to recharge the body, mind, and soul. Offerings include restorative massages, intuitive readings, a Makers Market featuring small local businesses, craft workshops, and body art. Resident vinyl DJs will keep the vibes chill for some special downtime at the festival.
